NHL.com/NHL:NewjerseyRangersMattCarle will be wearing a jersey made by the Minnesota Wild this season.
The team announced the move on Twitter.
It is a “one-of-a-kind” jersey that will be worn for the first time at a regular-season game on Tuesday.
The jersey features the Minnesota logo, which was the primary logo for the franchise for more than a decade.
Minnesota is the only NHL team to have a logo on its home jerseys, according to NHL.ca.
The Wild unveiled its new jersey design at their regular-year home opener on Tuesday night, but it will be the team’s first in the playoffs.
The NHL is in its final season in the New York market, with the league currently playing in Brooklyn and Brooklyn Bays.
The NHL will relocate to Brooklyn in 2019, with a new home at Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers, who have the worst record in the NHL and have yet to win a playoff series, play in the Eastern Conference finals on Friday.
The Wild are coming off a 3-1 series loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday in Game 3 of their first-round series.
